After having my second child, I found that I had been left with an extremely weak core and needed to strengthen it again to be able to partake in other forms of exercise. I turned to Pilates, which I had been practising for many years but really began to feel the real benefits as it helped to strengthen my core, improve my posture and lengthen my muscles rather than bulk.
This inspired me to want to help others to experience the benefits of Pilates and be able to improve their bodies. So I decided to train with Stott Pilates and haven't looked back since. It helped to incorporate all of the skills I had gained with my dancing background and use these abilities to enhance my teaching of the Pilates repertoire.
After teaching Matwork for two years, this summer I decided to extend my practice and started my training on the Pilates Reformer with Stott Pilates again. This opened my eyes to how Pilates can help to heal the body further, help to strengthen the muscles around the joint and prevent injury. Having loved my training on the Reformer, I have even purchased my own for home and love to spend hours practising on it helping to improve my own posture, strengthen my core and develop flexibility.
