I’M NEW TO PILATES? CAN I COME TO A GROUP CLASS?
Yes you can come to a beginners Mat class if you are pain-free. If you have been referred to us via a Physiotherapist, Osteopath or doctor we ask that you first contact us and we'll arrange for an initial chat.

If you have been referred to us, please contact us and we'll arrange an initial discussion.. Please be aware we may request that you attend a 1:1 session to assess your needs.
HOW OFTEN SHOULD I DO PILATES?
This depends on what your goals are. If you just want to try it out to see what it’s like, once a week is sufficient. Experience shows that attending only once a week means that you won’t reap the benefits. Twice a week will allow you to experience some changes while three or four times a week over a three month period would be optimal.

We are open:
8.30 am till 2pm
5 pm till 9 pm
We have classes across 7 days and also offer 1-2-1 sessions.
DO YOU HAVE CHANGING FACILITIES?
We have basic changing facilities so if you can, please come ready for class. But if this isn't possible we do have space to get changed. We don't have showering facilities although Pilates doesn't get you too hot!
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR TO A PILATES CLASS?
Wear something comfortable, without any zips, that you can move in with either bare feet or socks. For our Reformer Circuit classes we ask that you wear socks. ToeSox and Grip Socks are available to purchase in the studio.
DO I NEED A MAT?
No we are a fully equipped studio and will provide you with all your need for your class.
CAN I PAY ON THE NIGHT?
Yes, we ask that if possible you book online via our FREE app MindBody but then pay via cash or card in the studio.
CAN I CANCEL MY SESSION
We accept plans change and work commitments get in the way. So, if you need to cancel please do this via your online account or email firstname.lastname@example.org. If this is before 24 hours of your session, then there is no charge. However, if you cancel within 24 hours of your class or private session there is a cancellation fee of the class fee.
DO I NEED TO COME TO THE SAME CLASS EVERY WEEK?
No! At Rochdale Pilates and Yoga you have access to all our classes which you can book into, depending on your level, across the week. You have full freedom to change which class you come to each week or miss a week altogether depending on your personal availability and the class package you have bought.
I AM RECOVERING FROM AN INJURY - IS PILATES RIGHT FOR ME?
Absolutely! We advise at least one private 1-to-1 session first in order to ensure you are ready for group classes.
CAN I DO PILATES WHILE PREGNANT?
Pilates is the perfect way to support your pregnancy and we suggest you join a beginner session after your 12 week check. Post natal we recommend after your 6-8 week check.

Gillian and Taira have a combined 35 years experience in the fitness industry. We have a multi-talented team who all contribute to the classes we offer.
Rochdale Pilates and Yoga is the first dedicated Pilates studio in Rochdale and the first to introduce Pilates equipment. We specialises in Lower back issues Neuro conditions including MS, Stroke and Parkinsons. We do on going training with our instructors and work closely with local Osteopath and Physios.
